Downtown Development Authority

The City of LaFayette’s Downtown Development Authority is a key component in promoting trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities in the LaFayette central business district.

The DDA board is comprised of seven members appointed by the mayor and city council.

The Department of Community Affairs and Georgia Municipalities Association train board members in areas of revitalization and redevelopment. This allows board members to facilitate interaction within the private sector to attract new commerce to Downtown LaFayette as well as support existing businesses.

The development authority seeks to strengthen the local business climate by providing connections to funding for qualifying business ventures, all while keeping historic preservation a top priority.
